Introducing Tyco (Beta 2.5)

Introducing Tyco Spandler - the newest character to join Hand Companion. Like Kean, Tyco has a 3 scene story, so today is releasing the first part. Unlike Kean, Tyco isn't so friendly and cute, so be prepared for some dad-bod and roughness - and "woah" in the music track is stuck in my brain (and as per the new Itch requirements, the game is now tagged for the AI music from Suno - maybe one day it'll make thousands and I can commission a human made OST).

After some uncertainty, I decided that Santa will remain as a playable guest - I hope you continue to have fun with him.

Along with the new scene, I've finally gotten Android to build! The experimental build is available for purchasers.

Note:

  • It is playable, but 100% not working fully!
  • It likely will never be fully stable (so many Android devices and versions, so all I can do is rely on Unity's compatibility to handle it) - Windows version will remain the major supported version
  • A major issue is transparent shaders (so there's no fade to black, and the prompts for drawing are off, and the 'milk' doesn't show) - If you know anything about getting transparency working with Android in shadergraph (I've tried Unlit, Lit, Sprite as bases, and all of them don't want to work :( ) - drop a comment :). Was just some settings missing for balance/performance profiles ><
  • It's locked in Portrait - rotation currently causes instant shutdown... I'd rather not have to lock it, but, no clue why it causes such a problem
  • Tall and skinny screens current cut off the tracing games
  • Phone tilting for background effect - rather than using the mouse you can tilt your phone for the 3d background effect.

So quite a few issues currently, but considering I couldn't get it to compile at all, it's a milestone :) and on the plus side, it builds way faster than the web version!

Some fixes come in Beta 2.5 are

  • stopped compiling it to HC1, now it's better named
  • there was some clean up issues with the tracing game causing it to become harder occasionally
  • increased tracing tolerance around curves
  • removed festiveness
  • some back-end improvements (made sfx so much easier for me to manage now there's a lot more sounds!)
